Morley CC Under 13s were comprehensively beaten by a strong Methley CC side this evening at Scatcherd Lane despite putting in a much improved performance with both bat and ball. A dominant 22 not out from Sid Mukherjee and a disciplined 20 not out from Joe Strauss were the cornerstones of the home side’s 82-6 off 20 overs. But, despite some decent bowling from Morley’s quicks, powerful batting from Methley (83-2) saw the points go back to LS26 with almost eight overs to spare. There were wickets apiece for Luca Waites and Zach Nuthall who both bowled with pace and accuracy. Shiv Desai was also impressive, despite going wicketless, as was Shaurya Mishra who was making his under 13 debut. The fielding was much improved on recent weeks too, which is good to see. Importantly, the game was played in a good spirit and there were lots of smiles on lots of faces. Onwards and upwards 🏏💪🏻
