भद्रं पश्येमाक्षभिर्यजत्राः
स्थिरैरङ्गैस्तुष्टुवागँसस्तनूभिः
व्यशेम देवहितं यदायूः
स्वस्ति न इन्द्रो वृद्धश्रवाः
स्वस्ति नः पूषा विश्ववेदाः
स्वस्ति नस्ताक्षर्यो
स्वस्ति नो ब्रुहस्पतिर्दधातु
ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः||
Om! Bhadram karnebhihi shrunuyaama devaaha;
Bhadram pashyema akshibhir yajatraaha;
Stirair angaih sthustuvaamsah tanoorbhir
vyashema deva hitam yadaayuhu
Svasti na Indro vriddhah shravaaha; Svasti nah pooshaa vishva vedaaha;
Svasti nah tarkshyo arista nemihi;
Svasti no Brihaspatir dadhaat u.
Transalation: O Gods, May we hear only the auspicious; May we see only the auspicious;
May we enjoy our life with strong limbs showering praise upon you; May the vast hearing Indra, may the all-knower Poosha, may theTaarkshya with his non-injuring fellies, May Brihaspathi be propitious to us. [Taarkshya is
the carrier of Aruna, the red rays of dawn].
